What Townleap Does

Townleap is a free informational tool that helps people explore cities for potential relocation. It provides city data, a preference quiz, comparison tools, and residency information compiled from public sources.

Data Accuracy

City data comes from public sources including Numbeo, the Economist Intelligence Unit, UNODC, Freedom House, EF Education First, the World Bank, and government immigration portals. We try to keep it current, but we cannot guarantee that every number is accurate or up to date.

Townleap is not legal, financial, or immigration advice. Visa requirements, residency rules, and cost-of-living figures change. Always verify critical information with official government sources or qualified professionals before making relocation decisions.

Third-Party Data Sources

Townleap aggregates and displays data from third-party providers. This data remains the intellectual property of those sources and is used under their respective terms. We attribute sources where applicable, but we are not a licensed redistributor of any third-party dataset. If you believe any data is displayed in violation of a provider's terms, please contact us.

No Accounts

Townleap does not require registration. There are no user accounts, passwords, or profiles. Preferences and quiz answers are stored locally in your browser.

User-Submitted Content

If you submit feedback or city reactions through the site, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that content to improve the product. Feedback is anonymous — we do not ask for or store your name or email alongside it.

If you believe any user-submitted content on Townleap infringes your copyright, please contact us with a description of the copyrighted work and the specific content you believe is infringing. We will review and remove infringing content promptly.

Intellectual Property

The Townleap name, logo, quiz logic, and original content (copy, scoring methodology, editorial commentary) belong to Daring Internet. City data sourced from third parties remains the property of those sources. You may link to Townleap and share your results freely.

Limitation of Liability

Townleap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the data shown on this site. Moving to a new country is a significant life decision — please do your own research.

Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Townleap at any time. We don't guarantee uptime or uninterrupted access.

Prohibited Use

Don't use Townleap to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data at scale.
• Overload our servers with automated requests.
• Misrepresent our content as your own.
• Submit automated or spam content through the feedback endpoint.
• Attempt to deanonymize session identifiers or other pseudonymous data.
• Reverse-engineer the scoring methodology or quiz algorithms for commercial use.

Reasonable personal and editorial use is fine.

Changes
