🇬🇧 UK Global Talent Visa
No job offer, no sponsor, no salary floor — just prove you're brilliant
The UK's Global Talent visa is for people who are genuinely exceptional in science, engineering, humanities, medicine, digital technology, or arts and culture. No employer needed — you endorse yourself through a two-stage process where a designated body confirms you're the real deal. Exceptional talent gets you to permanent residence in 3 years; exceptional promise takes 5. You can freelance, start a company, work for anyone, or do all three at once. The catch: you need a portfolio that makes a panel of experts nod approvingly.
Who actually qualifies
- ✓Recognized leader (exceptional talent) or emerging leader (exceptional promise) in your field
- ✓Must be endorsed by a designated body: Tech Nation (digital tech — acquired by Founders Forum Group in 2023, still the official endorsing body under a new Home Office contract), UKRI (science/academia), Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, British Academy (humanities), or Arts Council England
- ✓Alternative: won an eligible prestigious prize from the Home Office list (skips endorsement entirely)
- ✓No job offer or employer sponsor required
- ✓No minimum salary — your income is your business
- ✓Can be self-employed, employed, or both simultaneously
- ✓Must be 18 or older
- ✓Open to all nationalities
